The tooth was barely hanging on by a thread, so Jason had to pull it out himself before we let Emmett go to bed. Emmett was a really brave trooper! Now, at 8 PM, I have to prepare to do my job! :) The Tooth Fairy is on call at all times, ya know. Monday, January 26, 2009
The Tooth Fairy Comes Tonight

Mrs. Salter's Peanut Butter Pie (courtesy of Paula Deen)
Every once in awhile, Jason will start snooping around in the pantry and refrigerator trying to locate expired products. This drives me crazy!!! Partially, because it makes me feel bad that so many things have gone to waste; but MOSTLY because he usually does it at the most inopportune times, and he peppers his rummaging with things like "what were you planning on doing with this?" or "this expired 6 months ago!" Well, about a week ago, he found some peanut butter about ready to expire, so I pulled out this recipe I've been wanting to try ever since I saw it on Food Network months ago.
Peanut Butter Pie
- 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- pre-made pie crust
Whip cream with 1/4 cup sugar. Mix all other ingredients until smooth and fold in whipped cream until well blended. Pour mixture into crust and chill for several hours before serving.
Hopefully, Jason will like this treat for after dinner tonight. On second thought...that might send him back to scrounging around my kitchen looking for more products for me to cook with...

My FAVORITE Marriage Book -- Beware!!!
I have read MANY relationship/marriage books over the years; and, short of the Bible, there is only one that I "highly" recommend.
Created To Be His Help Meet: Discover How God Can Make Your Marriage Glorious by Debi Pearl
But, I warn everyone that I give this book to that they will have a love-hate relationship with it. At times, they will feel like shredding it, burning it, or just throwing it in the trash. That's because the wisdom it presents is not worldly wisdom and it goes against everything most girls/women are taught.
I've read it FOUR times and parts of it still make me cringe. But it works!
If you are interested, I have a few free copies that are set aside for anyone that wants one (just send me an e-mail). Use the above link to purchase extra copies as gifts.
